Eli and the Pumkin Patch

We headed back to the Pumpkin farm this weekend and picked out 3 great pumpkins. Eli was a pumpkin maniac and he chose all 3 of our pumpkins (after some persuasion by Mommy that rotten pumpkins were not, despite how cool they were, going home with u s). He also pulled the pumpkin wagon for most of our pumpkin patch excursion (which was probably a 1/2 mile round trip). Eli especially loved going down the hill pulling the wagon and would giggle and shout "Go Fast". After we found our special pumpkins we headed over to visit Eli's favorite pony Bill, only to discover that Bill was taking a nap in the pony trailer! Eli was a bit worried about this until Sam explained that Bill was taking a nap, "going night-night", and wearing his pajamas (because we have to wear pajamas to go night night). He then made friends with a pony named Flash and went for a terrific ride! We had such an amazing day. We love spending time with our boys out and about!

Nate's Week in Review

Nate is hitting his "I am piggy" stage and as a result the boy LOVES to eat. Really, super baby has yet to meet aa food he doesnt like. He grunts and growls at us when we feed him solids (video to be uploaded tomorrow night...funny stuff!). Nate loves to check out the world and though he weighs more than 20 pounds, I still baby bjorn him when we are out and about because he has such a good time. Simply put, this baby is a rock star!

Bill the Pony

There is a wonderful pumpkin patch/orchard in Champaign where we picked our first Illinois pumkins last year with an 11 month old Eli. We headed out again this past weekend but we never even made it to the pumkin patch. We spent all our time in the fabulous family fun area where Eli got to go on his first ever pony ride. He loved it. Eli wasnt scared for a single second and looked totally enthralled the entire ride. He has been talking about it ever since. His ponies name was Bill and Bill was one terrific pony! We are headed back this weekend to actually get our pumpkins and of course visit Bill!

Sam's Dad Moment...Too Funny!

So we were driving home from the museum today and were going down one of the main roads in Champaign-Urbana when we noticed a car in front of us flying a Michigan Flag! We were, of course, stoked to see the maize and blue in a see of Illinois orange (seriously, if you do not have Illinois stickers, flags, etc... on your car you must not be a REAL fan). Just as we were pulling up to a stop light a car pulls along side the Michigan Flag car, rolls down there windows and in true Illinois style starts yelling at the person driving the car using some VERY naughty language (that we no longer use in this house because Eli repeats EVERYTHING). What does any good father do but roll down the window and say "Excuse me, could you watch the language please" pointing to the two sleepy babies in the back seat.

Sam is a terrific dad, but my god we are OLD!!!!

Childrens Discovery Museum-Toddler Fun Extravaganza!

We took a fun family trip to the Children's Discovery Museum in Bloomington, IL.This place is a toddler's paradise! Now that Eli is a bit older he got a chance to explore some cool new exhibits. There is an AGmazing exhibit with a tractor, combine, and cows (of the large plastic variety) all of which have amazing interactive features. We also played in the construction zone which a zillion different blocks of all sizes and a very cute museum helper named Kelli who Eli flirted with. (he is a womanizer all ready...we worry for the teen years!). Eli loved the wind machine the most and spent a ton of time experimenting with balls, pinwheels, pipes and more...what a little scientist. Nate enjoyed the wind machine too. Check out his hair!!!

A toddler, 2 markers, and 45 seconds of unsupervised coloring

Eli looks French! We dig the goatee!
He Looks a tiny bit blood thirsty in this picture...just, gross!
Seriously, never-ever leave your toddler unattended while you step in the kitchen (he was in the dining room) to poor a much needed cup of coffee. (Even if it only takes 45 seconds). The boy ate the markers, told me he ate the markers, laughed like a maniac and than said EWWWW!! Ha. Life is never boring in toddlerville. He is still a pretty-boy despite the makeup job.

Hanging With Natty-Bobby (Nathan Robert of Course)

Hanging out with Nate is one of lifes greatest joys. He is such a content little sweetheart, but as he gets older his goofy and wild side stand out more and more. He babbles a ton and is quick to laugh. His main source of entertainment are milo and big bro Eli. He does think his Momma is pretty funny when she sings his favorite song (The original Dukes of Hazzard Theme song)accompanied by a made-up dance that you would have to see to believe...and trust us, you do not want to see it. All is well in Nate's world!
