Nate and the Big Boy Bed!

Happy toddler after a 3 hour nap! Yep, that does make for a happy mommy too!
A big boy, in his big boy bed!

So in an effort to prevent head trauma, broken arms and legs, and internal bleeding we switched Nate to a toddler bed this weekend. We have noticed for several weeks that Nate was putting his legs all the way up on the top bar of his crib. Well, last friday Sam came in to Nate's room to find him "riding pony" on the top rail of the crib. Awesome! Sam got the room safety proofed (window guards, special plug boxes, etc...), and we switched him Sunday! He has been napping about every other day, and oh does this mommy miss my consistent napper Nate. he does a great job at night. I cried when I first saw him in the big boy bed. He is my baby and he is growing up way too fast!

Winter Break-Outside Play Day!

Armed and dangerous!
Eli put together an obstacle course that eventually included: climber, slide, and teeter totter!
This is alien Eli with his alien horn in the air! (he comes up with the silliest things)
Eli loaded up the wagon with everything he could find in the yard. What a strong guy!
Just a cute picture of my sweet face baby!

What a fun day we had today! It was 58 degrees this afternoon and sunny! That type of gorgeousness is impossible to resist so we spent a good 1.5 hours outside this afternoon. I love the adventures these two little boys get into. They always have something going on! I cant wait until spring!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mommy and her sweetheart Eli! The Ladies Man!
Nate was camera shy on Valentine's Day! But aren't they cute in their shirts?
Brother hug in action!
Notice the look of panic on Nate's Face? Eli likes to hug until Nate begs for mercy!

We had such a fun valentine's day! We went out to a family breakfast and had the most relaxing day. Sam and I even got to go on a date that night! Woo-hoo! I love by guys more than anything and I cant believe that they are mine!

P.S. Nate's shirt says "Heartbreaker" and Eli's says "Ladies Man"! So true!

Video proof of crazy valentine's art

Valentines Day Art Project Horror Show

As always, Eli's hands are his favorite canvas! But somehow with red paint it seems a bit scary!
Nate loves to paint at the easel and only started painting himself after brother had so much fun doing it!

Nate and Eli made Valentines day art for their daddy today, and craziness ensued; though, it usually does! At the end their was no surface in my kitchen left untainted by red paint!

Mud Bowl 2009

Profile of one of my cutie-pie dirt balls!
Eli LOVES to jump off of things now! Nate followed shortly afterwards!

So we enjoyed the last of our winter respite by playing in the back yard on Monday afternoon! It was gorgeous, muddy, but gorgeous! We had the best time romping around in the mud and muck and just being outdoors!

Damn it Daddy!!!

Yep, even the dirtiest words can come out of the sweetest mouth!
So Nate has acquired a fantastic new word, which is totally my fault. damn it. Yep. That's right I say it (and occasionally worse) and at the rate Nate is picking up vocabulary I should know better! So it started a few days ago and he would just randomly walk around saying "damn it". We quickly realized that we had to completely ignore him to get him to stop while simultaneously not laugh at him or he would keep going. Yesterday we were all playing in the playroom when I Nate starting on his "damn it" roll. I left to go laugh upstairs when all of a sudden I hear " damn it Daddy"! Its so terrible but it is ridiculously funny! Today at naptime he dropped his puppy (best friend for life) and I hear uh-oh puppy, followed quickly by "damn it puppy"! Oh yeah, thats my baby!

Dressing up is fun to do

Dr. Nate is ready and willing to stick you with a needle!
Chef Eli was busy whipping up chocolate milk and lasagna in the kitchen!

The boys love to play to dress up with hats, scarves, etc... so we added a bit of fun into the mix with costumes. Nate was more interested in all the tools that came with each costume but Eli took his roles very seriously. When he was the dr. he wanted to be called Dr. Zimmerman, which happens to be the name of my sports medicine dr. Now, Eli was so impressed with Dr. Zimmerman because he new all of the characters from the Cars movie!

A Break From the Cold

Eli loved pulling the wagon and trudging through the melty mess!
Nate found a pine cone treasure look at the sweet face (and great haircut!)
Buddies!

We had the most amazing weather on Saturday! 60 degrees!!! Woo-hoooooo! we spent a lot of time outside and loved every minute of it! Though it looks cold in the photo it felt amazing too us! We really need the break from the awful cold we have had and I have never seen such happy little boys! Only 2 more months of winter!
