Cars, crackers, and Ta's (lights)

Nate is a man of mystery! He always looks like he has a secret!
That is one happy looking beef cake!
Thinking about walking...not really feeling it though!

Nate is a talking maniac! His favorite words of the week are cracker, car, and Ta (which means light). He happily babbles pretty much all day and he especially talkative when he sees girls, other babies and daddy at the end of a long day! Nate took two steps from the table to the door today but for the most part he prefers to crawl (who can blame him, he is the fastest crawler on the planet!). What a fun boy!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Eli is the proud new owner of FROGGY RAIN BOOTS!!!! In honor of his froggy rain boots it rained today! Eli was thrilled! The rest of us...not quite as much! Look at that happy, happy face!

Eli is on quite a roll with his funny phrases these days! Eli got into a tiny bit of trouble for some small toddler infraction last week and after his Time Out was over he told me that I hurt his "Man Feelings". Good to know that the boy is in touch with his man feelings! What a joker!

I WANT MY PANTALONES!!!! and other toddler ramblings

So I have been teaching Eli some spanish (we try for 3-4 words a week). We started off with words like terrifico, perfectamundo, fantastico, etc... as a way for him to be descriptive. I knew when he described his dinner as "perfectamente" that we were on to something. He now knows how to say pants, shirt, shoes, traffic, back, body, and so many other fun words in spanish. Such a smartie.

So I just put Eli down for his nap and I could tell he wasnt going to go to sleep without a fight. About 5 minutes after I left him in his room he starts to scream "I WANT MY PANTALONES, I WANT MY PANTALONES NOW!!!!

So I went into his room, and not only were his pants off they were hanging from his drapery rod( I have no idea).

It is so wonderful that he can be a 2 year old in any lanuguage!

P.S. Today at toddler science class he decided he was down hiking (1/4 a mile from the end of the hike) so I had to scoop him up and carry him (with nate in a backpack on my back) all the way back to our car (people, that is 64 pounds of man). He was upset that I wouldnt let him hangout on the trail so he told me "Mommy I am so mad at you for stealing me away from the sidewalk". It is so hard not to laugh at his antics. What a funny little boy!

Puppy Eli!

This picture is just too funny! Sam made Eli's easter bunny ears into puppy dog ears and Eli LOVED that! This is Eli's joker face! What a comedien!

The Pork Chop

I LOVE My Mom's Pasta! I REALLY REALLY Love IT!
Yummy! Meat, Noodles, Spinach, Bell Peppers...too much to choose from!
Oh Yeah!!! People Food Rocks!

That is not a picture of an Oompa Loompa, it is Nate after he eats spaghetti! I am almost afraid to serve it now because of the pasta face he gets afterwards! This is apparently some type of genetic affliction as I was known for dumping bowls of pasta on my head as a baby too!!! This was last night, and depsite a sink bath and a bath bath the boy still smells like tomato sauce (I think it soaked into his pores). What a saucy boy!

We call Nate the pork chop in honor of his rather porky statistics and the fact that the boy will eat ANYTHING!!!!

I will get this ball, I will, I will!!!
Yeah for Nate!
Look at the focus!
Happy Baby Nate with his ball!!!
I threw the ball...and know I am going to chase it!!! YEAH!!!!

Nate is a ball guy! He loves to throw them, do crawling soccer by chasing them down. He loves kicking them (with a little help), and generally pouncing on them like a friendly puppy! He is such a fun boy!

It's Spring Part 1: Kite Day at the Park

I am soooooo excited to fly my Elmo kite!
Daddy and I are a kite flying team!!!
WEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Running with the Elmo kite is a blast!
Im FREE like the wind!!!!
HA, Ha!!! I am so tricky! Im pulling the kite and daddy!

We had GORGEOUS weather this weekend and that meant we could run around like maniacs at the park! We took Eli's Elmo kite and Nate's soccer ball and had a blast!!! There is nothing better than spending family time in the fabulous sunshine after a long, long, long, long winter!!!

Nate's 1 year check-up

Nate had a wonderful 1 year check-up today!

First the stats:

Nate is 31.5 inches tall (92%) and 25 pounds (80%). He looks like a lineman with popeye arms! The boys rolls have rolls! He is such a chunk right now that he has a neck roll rash! Poor boy! He is growing so well and is such a jolly, happy boy!

The best news of the day came when our Dr. gave us the all clear for ITP!!!! We never have to worry about it again! Nate had a one-time acute case of ITP so he will not have chronic problems!!!! That is the best birthday present ever!!!!

All About Nate the Great!!!!

I'm Cute and I know it!!!
That is a Whole Lot of BABY!!! Look at the double chin!!!
Peek...
A BOO!!!!
I look just like my Pop Pop!!!!
Cool Guy Striking a Pose!
Yep, B-Day Breakfast Cupcakes are the Best!!!

We wanted to share with you all the wonderful things about Nate!!! Nate is a happy, happy boy! He wakes up happy in the morning and at nap time and he goes down a happy guy at night!!! He is a smiley, rolly-polly snuggler. No one can give a hug like Nate! He holds on so tight and gives big, wet, sloppy kisses too!!!

Nate, is constantly on the go! He crawls, he cruises the furniture, he climbs up everything (usually in an attempt to get to big brother Eli or Milo the dog)! He is an adventurous soul and explores everything around him!!

Nate is a bit leary of strangers at first, but once he warms up he is a social butterfly! The boy loves to flirt, chatter away and play with new friends!!! Our big boy is a chatter-box! HE says Momma, Dada, dog, ba-ba (for bottle), tiger, ball, car, peeboo (peek-a-boo)! He waves bye-bye and can clap his hands! The boy loves to rock out to music and is happiest when music is playing or he is singing with his momma!

Nate loves his big brother probably more than anything in the world! He always wants to be where Eli is and that usually means he tries to crawl up Eli, pulls on his hair, tackles him in an attempt to show him love, etc... We always tell Eli that Nate just loves him So much he cant help himself!

Our little Nate is fiesty sweetheart and we love him with all of our hearts!!!

P.S. physical stats will be reported after his check-up on friday! He looks like a butterball turkey though so I think he is going to be a chunk-a-chunk!!

Nate's First Birthday Playgroup Party!!!

Cupcake Fun with my Playgroup friends!!! Ta Da!!! I ate the whole cupcake!!! Yummy!
My Mommy made me Bug Cupcakes!!! Nice Try Momma!
Yeah, I dig cupcakes alright!

The Thursday before Nate's Birthday we held a party with all of our playgroup friends to celebrate! What a great time! 4 Two year olds, 3 1 year olds and five momma's! We ate bug cupcakes, played in Nate's new ball pit and created general mayhem and chaos! Just a typical playgroup with a sugar high! It was so fun to share birthday memories with all of our friends!

Happy 1st Birthday Nate!!!!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Nate! Momma and Daddy can hardly believe that you are 1! You have brought such sunshine and joy to our lives and you made our family complete! We love you so much! Love, Mommy, Daddy and Eli too!!!

Decorating Easter Cookies with Mommy!

Eli and I decorated Easter Cookies together in the shapes of Eggs, Butterflies, Bunnies, and Flowers! Talk about a sugar high! Eli used the icing and his fingers to create master pieces (so if you dont mind cookies smeared with toddler fingers, they were delicious!!!). I went into the kitchen to grab a paper towel, came back into the dining room only to discover Eli with 3-4 cookies in his mouth! He was BUSTED, but so cute that he got away with it! Cant wait for next year when both my big boys help decorate cookies!
