Birthday Dinner at Chevy's

Mommy and Nate
Daddy and Eli
The Birthday Boy after the sang the "happy birthday song" to him! He loved it!

The King Family has two birthday traditions (for the boys). First, we always eat birthday cake together for breakfast... yum! Second, we always go out to Chevy's to celebrate for dinner! The first tradition exists because there is no way the boys are having cake before bed time! Uh-uh! The second exists because Chevy's is a kid-proof good time where everyone like the food! The boys ate huge dinners tonight and Nate got the special song and hat! He was so serious while the waiters were singing to him that we didn't think he liked it but right after they finished he started saying "Sing Again"! He loved it! Thats my little musical fellow! What a fantastic ending to a great birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday Nate

My Sweet Little Baby is 2!

Happy Birthday Nate! Your sweet smile and happy heart make everyone around you fall in love. You are a constant source of joy to your daddy and mommy with your silliness and antics. We love how passionate you are about life and the joy you take from everything. We love watching your discovery of music and nature (your favorites) and your adoration of your big brother. You are half-maniac/ half-sweetheart and we think that combo is perfect!

Party like a 2 year old!

2 and 3 year old's eating elmo cake... sugar high!
Nate was a little hesitant at first to blow out his candles, especially because every other toddler in the room was blowing at him! Pretty funny! He looks so worried!
Meet Elmo!

We had a small birthday party for Nate yesterday morning! Our playgroup friends came over for pizza, play-time, and cake and Nate had the best time ever! He is such a social little guy and loved having all of his friends here. A small bounce house (shaped like a castle of course) was the big surprise from mommy and daddy and I have never seen such a happy group of 2 and 3 year olds! 5 two and 3 year olds and 3 babies helped ring in Nate's second year! Thank you friends!

The Indianapolis children's Museum

Nate loved the lego exhibit so much that he had a minor melt-down when we left. Good mother that I am, I caught it on film!
Nate in the construction zone! He loved driving the skid steer!
The Lego Kings!
Eli loved the lego dragon!
Master builder!

We took a trip to the Indy children's museum last week and had a blast! They have a brand new lego exhibit which the boys loved (Eli especially). We also spent a great deal of time in the dinosphere and both boys got to watch and touch actual dinosaur fossils as the scientists were cleaning them up... very cool. Other favorites were the water exploration table, construction zone, and train section!

Family Picture!

Lake of the woods: running addition

Last weekend the weather was gorgeous so we set Ramone (the double jogging stroller) free and went to Lake of the Woods park. They have a great asphalt paved running trail and then tons of grass trails! Sam and I ran about 1.25 miles (all that might stinking stress fracture will allow) and then we walked the 1.25 miles back. We let the little guys lose on the trails and they ran, and ran, and ran! It was my favorite afternoon of the year!

P.S. Sam pushed Ramone for the first time with the boys in it and he agrees... Ramone is a brutal task master!

Musical Nate

Nate singing "row, row, row your boat" and "The ABC song"

So Nate can sing quite a few songs now. His little voice is so sweet and though some of the words are still garbled most of the words are clear and right on! He is such a happy baby 95% of the time, though if you had asked me on monday I would have said he was happy 5% of the time and INSANE 95% of the time! Oh well, the littlest king man is almost 2 after all and we are hitting the terrible two's running!
