What to do when you have spots

The King Brothers are on week 6 of toddler illness insanity! This time Eli has the plague. No seriously, he looks like he has the plague. The boy is covered in varying sized red bumps from his ears to the bottoms of his feet! He definitely looks contagious! Nate has all the other symptoms (cough, snot, cranky-pantedness) but not the spots...yet! I will take a picture of Eli in his diaper tomorrow so you can appreciate his sad little spotted body!

So what to do with a boy who cant play with others or go in public places? Drive through Baskin-in-Robbins ice cream and the arboretum of course! We had an icecream picnic and then explored this pretty area on campus! Eli saw a turtle and some giant Koi in the pond and Nate had a blast pulling out chunks of his daddy's hair! We all loved the ice cream!

Keep your fingers crossed that the plague ends soona and we can return to our social toddler-partying ways!

Milk, it does a baby good!

Cute naked baby! He looks so much like his pop pop!

Park Time P-A-R-T-Y King Brother Style

Nate loves to dig, but he loves trying to escape across open fields even more! This is right before he made a break for it! Funny baby!
Melvin the Mixer and Billy the Bulldozer always come to the park with us! They are a part of the King brothers posse!
Brothers who dig together stay together!
Dumping out sand it so much fun...eating it is more fun!
Eli is rocking the big-boy digger!
Pantless and cracking up on the way home from the park! Way, way, way to much sand to get in Mommy's car!
Silliest boys in Illiniois!

The boys and I have discovered a really fun little park that is tucked out of the way in in a quiet neighborhood! It has an enormous sandbox and a toddler friendly climbing structure right next to each other so no matter what the boys are doing I can keep track of them (except for when Nate gets the urge to be free and take off across fields...the boy worries me with his wanderlust!).

Today was the first sunny day after several rainy days and the sand was WET!!! Perfect for digging but oh boy those were dirty boys! So they rode home in the car with only shirts on. Eli and Nate thought that was absolutely hysterical and were being little monkeys on the way home! I love those little boys so much!

Be Back Soon

Hi Family and Friends,

We are on the mend (finally) and our mommy and daddy promise that pictures and stories will be posted soon! We are not sure why our parents seem so worn out but between our wacky 5 day fever, mommy's supposed dissertation writing and daddy's professor stuff things are awfully hectic around our house!

To give you some chuckles, here are a couple of funny moments in the past week!

Eli: Apparently when you are 2.5 years old you develop the ability to be a super-smartie-mouth boy! If Eli doesnt want to do something he will "Yes, I dont". He means it! Sometimes when he is feeling a bit stubborn and you try to get him to say "I love you mommy" He will instead say " I love you milo, or dirt, or digger-truck, etc..." Oh well, we all know he loves his momma the most!

Nate: Nate is learning all types of new things these days. He has added bye-bye and baby to his 12+ word vocabulary (such a smart guy), he continues to choose crawling over walking because it is easier to crawl when you are such a chunky-monkey than to try and walk! Finally, Nate's two top front teeth have the most adorable gap between them! We can hardly stand it he is so cute! He has that big giant round head with a little gap tooth smile...ahhh!

Double the Man Double the Illness

King Brothers here. We want to apologize for the lack of a blog posting this week, but we are under the weather and running our parents ragged. We both have double ear infections (thats right4 infected ears), and on top of that it looks like we have some funky secondary NASTY infection. Momma and Daddy are stressed because we have been fighting fevers ranging from 103-105 degrees off and on since wednesday night. We say no biggy but they still seem buggy about the whole thing (especially momma, but boy does she live to worry). We want to report a few things 1) we are not cranky despite what our parents think! 2) Our momma has the coolest ability. We can throw-up right in her face and she wont get sick...thats neat! 3)Our Daddy is the most fun as he helps us escape momma for some outside time and fresh air (seriously, the woman would tie us to our beds if meant we got better faster!)

We promise to make momma post soon. We would take a group mother's day photo tomorrow but we are all looking a bit rough around the edges!

Eli and Daddy

Could these two handsome men look any more alike than they do? This is Eli giving his Daddy some serious hugs and kisses! this toddler loves his daddy so much. I live with a bunch of happy jokers.

Man Thighs

Ok, I know we post a ton of high chair pictures...but The Pork Chop is funny stuff in his high chair! Check out the man thighs on this baby! (No we do not go around pantless all the time, he was so dirty from outside we had to strip down!). Lets just say that Nate is well fed and leave it at that. Such a chunky monkey!
